Questions

Common questions.

Do we need to register again?

No. Organisations registered under the repealed NGO Act are treated as registered under the PBO Act. You must still submit updated information so the Authority can update its records, and it then issues a new certificate.

What is at stake if we fall behind?

The Authority can suspend or cancel registration. A suspended organisation cannot withdraw funds except for statutory obligations, start new activities or dispose of assets, which would stop donor-funded programmes.

Is the checklist legal advice?

No. It is practical guidance based on the law and published commentary as at October 2026. For decisions about your organisation, speak to a qualified legal adviser or the Authority.
